Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.

Carrie lost 22 pounds, is free of GERD and the medication she took for it.
I'm a nurse, I was on break in the hospital in Feb. 2015. The TV was on and I caught the last 30 minutes of Dr. Fuhrman's 3 Steps to Incredible Health. I changed my diet that day. I had GERD since I turned 50 years old, had a colonoscopy, was prescribed, Nexium and from that time on, I could not go without taking medicine. (The day I changed my diet, I also changed my mother's diet, she was able to stop all blood pressure medicines).
I had a stroke at age 55. When I stopped smoking I immediately started blowing up to 160 pounds. I know it doesn't sound like much, but I weighed 123-125 pounds all my adult life, even after having five children. 160 was too much for me, as a nurse--walking and standing is my life. My feet and back hurt badly.
By August 21, 2015, I noticed my clothes were a little looser. I walk 12 hours 3-4 days a week. I got on the scale, I was 149 pounds. My weight had melted off! By April 2016, I was down to 145. WOW, I couldn't believe it. This past physical, April 2018 I'm 138 pounds and at a plateau. I'm back in small scrubs, that I couldn't get my leg in two years ago. I no longer have heartburn, only occasionally, if I eat tomato- based foods late in the day. Also, diabetes is a family disease, and for me so far so good.
I listen to people's diet stories, I laugh, I Tell them about G-BOMBS "google it", I say. Nurses are the worst diet offenders and hospitals have more “poison” than medicines. I had a charge nurse that would come to work, inject himself with insulin, then proceed to eat donuts! After a while, he started listening to me when I asked him why was he killing himself. He finally lost weight, no longer injects insulin and looks so good now, it's hard to believe he's the same guy.
I am appalled at the diets and weights that I encounter every day. So, those that listen get the full spiel, those that make excuses, I make sure they see how I look at 65 years old. I'm amazed and very thankful that I caught Dr. Fuhrman that day, People always ask about the cost when you say diet, and how do I remember. It's simple, when I make my plate I make sure to have G-BOMBS - Greens, Beans, Onions, maybe Mushrooms, Berries and seeds. It's so simple, it doesn't take a rocket scientist or even a piece of paper! And I no longer say diet, it's a lifestyle!
