Jessica lost 42 pounds and ended her 8 year bout with depression
I started Eat To Live because I wanted to change my genetics, and not worry about getting cancer as I got older. My family has a history of a lot of cancer and heart disease, and I was on track to follow. Both parents had cancer scares, and some of my relatives have died of cancer. I don't want that. When I read Eat To Live I was 100 percent sold on how healthy eating can prevent these diseases. I had tried to feed my family healthy, but after reading the book, I knew I wasn't doing enough. I wanted to protect myself and my family.
I suffered from on and off depression for eight years. Since I started eating healthy I haven't had a problem with depression. Before Eat To Live, I was a sweets-a-holic. I loved to bake and I could easily eat a dozen cookies in a sitting, no problem. It literally was just a matter of time before I had diabetes. Since I was a big sweets person I really took to fruit, especially the Eat Your Greens smoothie. I love my morning smoothies. I eat a plant based diet and I love it. I have no desire for the unhealthy cookies. Once I detoxed from sugar I didn't crave it. Now I crave fruits and veggies!
