I lost 90 pounds and feel wonderful. Before my weight loss I felt terrible most of the time and had very little energy. I prayed to God for help. My husband's former employer gave him Eat To Live and explained how the book helped him beat colon cancer. I took this as an answer to my prayer and started the program.
This is the first diet I have tried that actually brought the promised results. The best part is you don't have to weigh your food; you can actually eat how much you want and still lose weight. The fact that these foods are found in nature and not processed was a huge selling point for me. All of the foods on this diet are what God intended for us to eat. Dr. Fuhrman’s books are a gift, with all the research that explains why these foods are so good for us. This knowledge also made it easier for me to stay with the plan.
After following the program for about six weeks, I had my light bulb moment, exactly how Dr. Fuhrman describes it. I began to look forward to eating vegetables; they all did not taste the same as they had before. I knew I would succeed when I started looking forward to eating greens.
Besides the weight loss, I think more clearly and focus better. I don't have headaches anymore. My bouts with depression are pretty much non-existent. That alone is worth staying with this diet as a lifestyle choice. Exercise is also key for me. I enjoy working out now.
When people see my before and after pictures they usually don't even remember me being so heavy. Many people I know and haven't seen for a while don't even recognize me. This plan worked for me when other diets failed because those diets (like Atkins) were hard to maintain. Depriving and counting calories was just too hard. I also feel better overall with this diet style, and did so almost immediately after starting the plan. Of course, the weight coming off rapidly made it easy to continue. Thank you.
