Donald is a new person after losing a staggering 117 pounds
I am 5ft.10in. and at age 51 weighed about three hundred pounds. I was chunky, plump, big-boned, obese, overweight, hefty, I was one or all of the terms we use when we don’t want to say fat. When you are covered in a layer of fat that is surrounding you and is defining you to all who see you, you are not happy. We are taught to love ourselves, but when you know you are not at your best, it’s hard to be happy. I was also listless, had no energy, and I felt that I was not going to live long if I did not do something. I tried to lose weight on my own but did not know what food to cut out.
In August 2011, I turned on the TV while getting ready for work and heard a voice I know well now, Dr. Fuhrman’s. He was on PBS talking about his Eat To Live plan, and what he was saying made sense to me. It was logical, based on fact, and I started to get excited, thinking that this is something that might work for me. I took down his name, found his website and watched him on PBS the next day. After that, I read his book and decided that this was something I had to do, not just to lose weight, but for good health.
I got rid of everything unhealthy in my kitchen and was left with bare cupboards. The day before I started my new lifestyle I went to the local health food store and bought fruits and veggies with the list I had made from Eat To Live. On August 31, 2011, I started. Since then, I’ve gone from 298 pounds to 181 pounds, from a size 52 waist to size 36 inch waist, and from a 3XL in shirts to large or medium.
My friends and family have been very supportive, and it feels great when everyone that knows you, and even people that don’t, stop and ask you what happened, and tell you how good you look. I always tell them about Eat To Live and Dr. Fuhrman to spread the word and hopefully help others. I feel so much better now; I really am a new person and people can tell by my big smile, my good posture, the energy I exude that I really am a new person. My only regret is that I did not find out about Eat To Live sooner, but I’m just glad I did.
It’s not easy to break the food addiction that is started in childhood, and was forced on us by family, friends, food companies and advertisers. But the more I learn, the more I want to stay healthy. Everything Dr. Fuhrman says is true and I want to tell him from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much, thank you, thank you, thank you! You have saved and changed my life for the better. It’s not easy to make these kinds of changes in your life, but Dr. Fuhrman gives you the knowledge to succeed and the will power to make these changes. Once you can control what you eat, you can have the inner strength to control everything in your life.
