Did you know that age 57 is the new 20 thanks to Dr. Fuhrman? I was a chronically overweight yo-yo dieter since I was 11 years old. I earned my high blood pressure and cholesterol levels that continued to climb in spite of taking various typical medications. I was looking down the barrel of a family history of diseases and early death as a result of the Standard American Diet (SAD). Coupled with an addictive lifestyle of alcohol, nicotine, sugar, fat and salt, I was on the same addictive path because I was taught it was normal.
I did not see unhealthy food as just another addiction until Dr. Fuhrman approached it in such a way that it clicked. After seeing Dr. Fuhrman on PBS, I read his books and watched his DVDs. That is what finally made everything click into place and enable me to experience amazingly rapid and energetic results. I can bear witness that the cravings for sugar, fat, salt feel exactly the same as the physical tingles you feel for tobacco, alcohol, drugs. Food addiction has the same path to recovery as any other misdirected passion, ultimately giving you your life back with glitter on it. It is the best reward ever. One by one I overcame each addiction starting with alcohol, then nicotine, and finally sugar, fat, salt, and most processed foods.
The trick for me was using the VitaMix combining raw veggies, fruits, nuts, making shakes and then making conscious H=N/C choices each time I ate and continue to eat. Adding the nuts and seeds, as well as additional greens, kick started the weight loss in the area stagnating around my hips. Adopting salad as the main dish really opens your eyes as to just how incredibly awful the American diet really is.
I went from 228 pounds to 150, and from pushing the outer limits of a size 18, to pushing the inner limits of a size 6-8. My blood pressure is fantastic and I no longer require medication.
As if all these health benefits weren’t enough, there is more. Healthy food is tax free, which in California results in a significant savings to your grocery bill. Healthy food is eco-friendly, you can grow it yourself if you really want to save money, and it requires minimal packaging and landfill waste. And the majority of the leftovers can be composted. Eating healthy is labor saving, less trash/garbage means less times taking out the trash.
The Nutritarian lifestyle is everything Dr. Fuhrman said it would be and more. No other nutritional or diet program can (legally) promise 100 percent results guarantee. I replay his DVD’s while I’m cooking to reinforce the information. My skin and hair look so much younger and healthier, and I have experienced amazing levels of energy and clarity. I am modeling the way, and bearing health witness, with family, friends, coworkers and anyone who will listen. And they are listening after seeing my amazing and effortless results. It is exciting, after a lifetime struggle with food, to have found something so great-tasting. Food is actually much more enjoyable now. I want to say thanks so much Dr. Fuhrman. I hope he never tires of hearing “you saved my life!” The program really does work in a very short amount of time if you just give it a couple a few weeks. That first step is a slippery slope into a new you. I sincerely mean it.
