After years of suffering rosacea and acne, Dara's face cleared up without medication
I started the Six Week Challenge in January 2012. I quickly noticed some of the health issues I suffered from including rosacea, restless leg syndrome and arthritis in my shoulder were greatly diminished. I still have mild restless leg syndrome occasionally, but I no longer feel the need to take the strong prescription medication I was planning to take. I also lost approximately thirty three pounds so far and am half way to my goal weight.
I had been suffering from rosacea for about twelve years and only began treating it with antibiotics last year. It cleared up considerably, but the side effects of the drugs were taking their toll on the rest of my body, both physically and emotionally. I stopped taking the medication about the same time I started following Eat To Live. Even off the medication, my face has remained clear from the acne and the redness I had everywhere with the exception of my nose. My nose is still red but it is no longer purple.
I have a shoulder condition that seems to be hereditary and causes a lot of pain. I sought treatment for it over the years and tried about everything short of surgery. Since starting the Eat To Live diet, the inflammation and irritation are dramatically reduced. It still does not function properly, but it is without pain, I can get along much better. The most remarkable part of this story to me is that I lost as much weight as I did, even though our family moved from Germany to the U.S. during this time. The weeks before the move were extremely stressful, which slowed my weight loss, but I have not gained anything back. But our living arrangement is still temporary because we are moving to Africa.
On the rare occasions that I stray from the diet, my restless leg syndrome returns with a vengeance and my shoulder burns and aches. I am convinced that this new lifestyle is going to be my lifestyle for the rest of my long and healthy life even while living in Africa.
