Todd's arthritis pain is much better without having to take the toxic drug his doctor had prescribed and he lost 58 pounds
After the death of my favorite uncle from congestive heart failure, I knew I was heading in the direction that would put me in the same situation a few years from now. On the day of his funeral, I started the six weeks Eat to Live program. This program was essential for me because it allowed me to really experience the wonders of high-nutrient foods, what it does to cravings and toxic hunger symptoms. The diet literally snuffed my cravings out in a matter of a few days. The struggle was worth it. In less than two weeks, all I wanted to eat were green veggies, mushrooms, fruits, beans, and some grains. The old way of eating is sincerely something I don't believe I will ever go back to. I know that cheating one or two times would start the old cravings again. My mind is made up, and I don't think it will happen again.
When I started the program my blood pressure was averaging about 138/90, and I was taking blood pressure medication. Two weeks into the program, I was averaging 105/68. I dropped my medication, thinking it might rise dramatically, but it did not. I am a very healthy level of 117/72 on an everyday basis now without meds.
It has also helped me with my autoimmune disease, psoriatic arthritis. My joint pain and inflammation have subsided. Just a month before starting the program, my dermatologist was desperately trying to get me to take Humira, a potentially very dangerous drug. My arthritis pain is also disappearing and I started Bikram Yoga classes five days a week. For me, my 58 pound weight loss was a secondary benefit. I wanted to feel better, and I wanted my numbers to be a lot better. I enjoy the weight loss and the positive self-image it has given me, but nothing beats the new energy and the new life that the Nutritarian diet has given me. Life is definitely good!
