Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.
Just after 60 days following the Nutritarian diet, John 's blood work showed amazingly lowered cholesterol and triglycerides numbers
I had a blood test on November 18, 2019, and it showed the following: total Cholesterol – 329, Triglycerides – 540, HDL – 35, VLDL - could not calculate - triglycerides too high, LDL - could not calculate - triglycerides too high. My wife is a medical doctor and she and I both freaked out. I had been studying different diets for many years and knew of Dr Fuhrman and started on his diet right away. My weight at that time was fluctuating between 195 - 205 pounds. I'm 5 feet 10 inches tall and my normal weight was between 155 - 165 pounds up until my mid- 30s. I'm now 46 years old. So, for me, I would say I’m at least 40 pounds overweight, maybe more.
After 60 days on the Nutritarian diet, I’m now about 180 pounds, so I lost probably around 15-20 pounds. I also incorporated some fasting days during this 60 day. I then had my blood work retaken on Jan 17, exactly 60 days later. Here are the results: total Cholesterol - 177 (152-point decrease, or 46 percent decrease), Triglycerides - 182 (358-point decrease, or 66 percent decrease), HDL - 33 (down from 35, so 2-point decrease), VLDL - 36 (could not calculate before). LDL - 108 (could not calculate before).
I'm more motivated now the ever! Even my wife says she has never seen anything like this kind of improvement in 60 days, even with prescribed medication. So, thanks Dr Fuhrman. I'm now hoping to consistently maintain the Nutritarian diet as a way of life.
