Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.

Julie has the energy to play with her children now that she lost 75 pounds and her migraines and polycystic ovary syndrome are gone
My journey to health started 14 months ago. I was lying on the couch with my three year old, both sick again. He had double ear infections; I had sinusitis and pneumonia, again. This was my fifth course of antibiotics in the past four months. Also, I was continually suffering with headaches. In the previous year my migraine medications had stopped working. I then had to go to the doctor to get shots, and when they didn’t work I had to go to an Urgent Care to get stronger shots. I was missing work because of headaches; it was awful. My cholesterol was just under 200 and the last time I saw my doctor, he told me I needed to start watching my blood pressure because it was a little on the high side.
My polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) was out of control and I was taking 300 mg of progesterone to help, but the pain was horrible. I knew I needed to make a change, but I had tried everything and felt hopeless. I was on the Atkins, Low-Carb, Paleo (Atkins revisited), Weight Watchers, Nutri-System, LA Weight Loss, and many more. I couldn’t find a lasting plan.
So, on that life changing day, I was roaming Netflix. I was looking for something I could watch with my three year old that wasn’t Dora the Explorer. I came across Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. I knew a juice fast wasn’t my solution, but then Dr. Fuhrman started talking about a different food pyramid, a way to nourish my body and lose weight. I was very inspired by what he said, but didn’t know where to start. So, I googled him, checked out his website, and bought Eat To Live right away. Read the book then read it again (I am still reading it again and again), subscribed to the website, and off I went. I committed to six weeks. I figured what did I have to lose? Six weeks later I had lost 22 pounds. I went to the doctor and here is my Facebook Post from that day:
"I was so excited to go to the doctor today for my physical! Weird huh? That's because last time I went my cholesterol was 198 (not quite high but close) triglycerides 146; HDL 63 and LDL 106 (high). Fast forward to today: cholesterol 132; triglycerides 53; HDL 51 and LDL 70. The physician's assistant said I had stellar results and asked what I was doing. And my liver results were abnormal last time and now they are great.
I weighed over 225 pounds before I started Eat To Live. Now I weigh 150 pounds. I haven’t had a single migraine headache. My PCOS has disappeared. I don’t even get PMS. I haven’t gotten sick like I did before. Any sickness I do happen to get lasts a week at the most. My husband says he isn’t afraid I’m going to die in my sleep anymore. I no longer snore or stop breathing (I didn’t even know I had this problem). I have energy. I can play with my kids. I am glad to say I am off all my medications. Progesterone gone! Allegra gone! Albuterol gone! Flonase gone! Sudafed gone! All migraine medications gone! When I started Eat to Live, I had hope again. I was excited, but I was also afraid that it might not work. The reality is how could it not work? It makes total common sense. When I started I did it by myself. I was going to start whether or not my husband or family did it with me. After the first week my husband joined me and has been going strong ever since. My parents joined in one month later and so many friends have since started. Eat To Live changed my life.
