Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.

Along with her 30 pound weight loss Rebecca's three year old daughter stopped having stomach aches
Upon turning 30, I started our health experience. I have been a vegetarian for a long time, but it wasn't until reading many of Dr. Fuhrman's books that I realized the negative impact of cheese and refined carbs. After having two children my weight was holding steady at 155 pounds. When I switched my family over to Dr. Fuhrman's diet style I did not intend to lose much weight as I was nursing a nine month old and did not want to harm my milk supply. It turned out that the diet sustained a very healthy milk supply even with eating less calories and losing weight.
I was inspired to change, not only because of how I felt after having two children, but how many sicknesses we were all getting as a family. My oldest daughter, now three and a half, was getting sick one to two times per month since she was 18 months old. When I talked to her pediatricians they assured me that she was perfectly healthy. When we changed our diet to mainly vegan (only eggs occasionally) her health improved dramatically. And when we would introduce cheese back into her diet when we went out to eat she would instantly have gastrointestinal issues. All of her tummy aches went away with this diet.
I lost 30 pounds and am smaller now than I was on our wedding day, and at 5ft.6in. I am back to my healthy college weight of 124 pounds. I will never see food the same way again, and I am so happy that I was able to get my family back on the road to true health.
