I saw Dr. Fuhrman on PBS, read Eat To Live and thought it could never work. After all, I grew up on a farm and thought you needed protein from meat. I tried the diet for a while and saw great results, but didn't keep up with it. My blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglycerides were all high (in the at risk range). I tried Weight Watchers but decided all that counting wasn't for me. I noticed that Dr. Fuhrman came out with another book called The End of Diabetes. I don't have diabetes, but it runs in my family. I decided to try Eat To Live one more time. This time I did not try it, I did it! I lost 39 pounds, helped a friend lose weight, and another friend cut more than half his insulin intake.
I have more energy and I'm more physically fit because I have also started working out on a regular basis. I used to wear a size 14 and now I am almost a size 8. In my before photo I am the one in the apron. There are so many more positive physical aspects that I have experienced!
