Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.
After suffering a heart attack, Rob was able get off all his heart medications and believes he wouldn't be alive today if he wasn't following the Nutritarian diet plan
After my heart attack in Feb 2007, a woman in my church gave me a copy of Eat to Live. I read repeatedly that heart disease can be reversed. Approximately 9 months after 2 stents were put in, I went on the Nutritarian diet. I shared what I was doing with my cardiologist, who said it was not possible to reverse heart disease with diet. I asked her if she would supervise me in gradually eliminating the medications.
I pretty much did this on my own. I had been a runner since my early 40's. My father died of heart disease when he was 46 years old, and my brother died of heart disease at the age of 62. I think I was running with the hopes of thwarting this disease, never knowing that a way of eating high nutrient foods would do more for me than all the running I was doing. I did have another heart episode in 2013, where they put another stent in. I refused taking heart meds, as my experience with them made me feel awful.
I basically eat G-BOMBS every day (no dairy, no beef, occasional chicken), along with Dr Fuhrman’s supplements: Men's Daily, LDL Biotect, C3 Curcumin Complex, Immune Biotect. I also take 600 MG Red Yeast Rice, 80mg low dose Aspirin, and 5000IU D3.
My May 2018 blood results showed cholesterol 133, HDL 50, LDL 74 (LDL dropped from 124 the previous year). Cholesterol/HDL Ratio 2.66, Triglycerides 76, VLDL 15. My primary care doctor asked me what I did differently the past year to make the LDL drop so much. I told her that the only change I made, was replacing my first cup of coffee with a hot mixture of cinnamon, ginger and turmeric.
My exercise is moderate: walking 2 miles 3 times per week, and doing isometric exercises while I walk. I just turned 74 years old, and consider myself in excellent health with lots of energy. I lost 29 pounds and I sleep very well. Over the years I have coached others on the Nutritarian diet. I belong to Dr Fuhrman’s "Ask the Doctor."
In summary, eating high nutrient foods has changed my life. I do not think I'd be alive today had I not made this change. I am thankful to Dr. Fuhrman for his research and books. I got off all 6 heart medications in 2008 after my Feb 2007 heart attack (stents). Have been off all heart meds since then, with the exception of low dose aspirin.
Results may vary.
