In October 2014, after eating a SAD diet for 45 years, I read a book on the Paleo diet and started following it to lose weight. Amazingly, I did not think I would be risking my life by doing that. After being on a Paleo diet for about 7 months I had a heart attack (100 percent blockage of LAD (left anterior descending artery, 2 drug- eluting stents placed). While recovering at home, Dr Fuhrman's practice came to my attention. I read Eat to Live and immediately became Nutritarian. The heart attack provided the motivation. The quality of information provided on Dr Fuhrman's website and in Eat to Live immediately resonated in the logical part of my brain. It immediately made sense and felt right.
Since then, I have become expert in nutrition. I have reversed my heart disease and take no medications. My blood pressure averages 100 over 62. I don't worry at all about having another heart attack. I love sharing what I have learned with those friends and family who are open to the possibility of improving their health. I am completely drug free within 18 months of a heart attack. And I lost 23 pounds.
