Patricia felt doomed to suffer obesity and illness until she found Dr. Fuhrman on PBS; now she lost 72 pounds, is off blood pressure meds and is running again after a 20-year hiatus
In March of 2014 I was 52 years old and weighed 210 pounds. I was on medication for high blood pressure, had very high triglycerides and was prediabetic. I was tired all the time, did not have any energy or motivation. I had tried every diet under the sun and I just kept getting bigger and sicker. I felt like my life was over and the only thing I had to look forward to was old age and death. I had given up.
One day I saw Dr. Fuhrman on PBS. What he said made sense so I thought I would give it a try. What did I have to lose, right? I immediately downloaded Eat To Live and The End of Dieting on I-Books.I went the vegan route and stuck to the plan religiously although it was difficult for me at first because I did not like beans or cooked greens. My desire for the SAD diet went away pretty quickly and I grew to love beans and greens. The weight started coming off immediately and very fast at first. Things slowed down to two pounds a week as I got smaller. After a few months, I was already off the blood pressure medication. When I went to visit my family for the holidays they were amazed by my transformation.
As the weight came off, my energy increased. I even started running again; something I hadn't done in twenty years. I live in Colorado and have always enjoyed hiking. Now I do not get out of breath hiking and have boundless energy. The weight loss is fantastic, but the change in the way I feel is the biggest benefit of Eat To Live.
I had no set goal weight. I thought I'd be happy in the 150s. It’s been over a year and I have lost 72 pounds. I am now a happy and healthy 138 pounds. I don't count calories at all. I just eat my G-BOMBS and live my life. I no longer am obsessed with food. I now look forward to the future and all it has in store for me.
