Carol's arthritic foot is healing after going on a ten day fast and losing 10 pounds; now she enjoys her Eat To Live recipes
I read Dr. Fuhrman's book Eat To Live after hearing about it on the Dr. Oz show. For the last ten years, after menopause, I have been struggling with my weight. I tried other diets and nothing was long lasting. I was very frustrated as I always regained the weight. Then my foot started bothering me at the joint of the large toe. I went to my doctor to see if it was gout or arthritis. He sent me for X-rays and blood work. While waiting for my next appointment I read Dr. Fuhrman's book Fasting and Eating For Health. I did have arthritis in my foot and he wanted to me to see a specialist.
After reading Dr. Fuhrman's fasting book I was determined not to start taking any synthetic medications. I told that to the doctor and that I was going to do a fast. I asked if he was familiar with Dr. Fuhrman's book. He told me he was, so I asked if he would supervise my fast, and he agreed. I went on the fast for ten days. I drank water, coconut water and organic raw Kampuchea with probiotics-enzymes and detoxifiers in it. I lost fifteen pounds, and I never called the doctor because I never felt bad or hungry.
When I went off my fast I followed the Eat To Live vegetarian diet menu and have been doing that until today. My foot is healing. My friends and family have noticed a big difference in me, and I am determined to keep the weight off. I am enjoying all of Dr.Fuhrman’s recipes. I made several soups, veggie burgers and even the pumpkin pie. It's all delicious and I feel so healthy that I am giving his book out to my friend as gifts. I also ordered his cookbook as this is how I want to live for the rest of my life. Thank you!
