Carla lost 50 pounds and has more energy
My experience with the Nutritarian way of eating has been nothing short of amazing! For years I have been yo-yoing, trying to take the weight off in many different ways. I never hit my goal and the pounds always came back, and brought some friends with them! I even tried to follow the Eat to Live plan a couple of times. I was somewhat successful, but never really achieved what I wanted to.
This time was different. The weight came off almost effortlessly and the results were very motivating. I have now lost 50 pounds! The missing factor for me seems to have been support. I joined the Weight Loss Detox to be with a community of people who understood what it was like to be overweight, and how challenging it can be to change food habits. I appreciated the support of other members. I also made it clear to my family this time that I was going to prioritize my health and eat this way, whether they were on board or not. I knew my health would affect everyone in the family.
They agreed to eat the foods from the Nutritarian diet and to add those things that they were missing. Their support in helping to prepare the meals and eating them with me really helped!
In terms of timing, trying to lose the weight when I did wasn't optimal. My mother was ill and then passed away; we moved houses; Covid was keeping us indoors; my workplace went on strike. Surprisingly, the healthy eating and taking care of myself became the things in my life that were stable.
I feel so much better now. The person I see in the mirror matches my internal image of myself. I have more energy now, and have even started to run again. I'm not seeing the numbers on the scale creep up, and I know what to do if I see it. I feel that this way of eating has given me control of my weight in a way that I didn't have previously. I haven't gotten the blood work done to track the changes, but I look forward to seeing the results at my next physical exam.
