Two years ago, I came to the Eat to Live Retreat in San Diego for my husband who was coming for his health. I came to support him and ended up 100 percent on board with Dr. Fuhrman‘s program of nutrition, noting that I came kicking and screaming that I had to stay at a camp for a month and eat certain things. That was just reality setting in that I was probably going to have to change how I ate, and I was not up for it. I had diverticulitis and was scared to really eat anything. Dr Fuhrman and I discussed my fears and he changed the way I ate. I’m a firm believer in his Nutritarian program. I eat as close as I can to how he says to eat for longevity, great health, and just knowing that my body is healthy! I’ve told many people about Dr. Fuhrman, handed out his Share Cards to many who I thought could benefit from his plan of nutrition. I have even changed my supplement program to his supplement program. I eat so many G-BOMBS…greens beans, onions, mushrooms, berries, and seeds…every day and there are so many recipes!
Another key element is having a Vitamix! I make a green drink every day with my oatmeal, seeds and berries every morning, just like at camp! I feel great, have more energy, feel great about eating well and have no hesitation in letting restaurants know exactly what I need and what I don’t need when I go out to eat. One of the greatest things is I have a whole new wardrobe (lost 15 pounds)!
Eating healthy, exercising, and having a confirmed knowledge that I am doing what I can do to be the best I can be-I owe it all to Dr. Fuhrman. I want to be an example to others and my family that healthy eating is attainable and satisfying and it is not that hard. The hardest part for people is just making the decision that you’re going to do this and do it right for your health.
Thank you, Dr. Fuhrman, for opening my eyes to something that no one had ever told me before about nutrition and how to go about it properly and continuing my education with your books! Since I play tennis almost every day I have noticed I don’t get tired at all from eating this way… yep no meats… But I do eat salmon or halibut once or twice a week. Others get exhausted, sweat out all kinds of salt from their systems and are just bedraggled. I feel the healthiest I’ve ever felt in my entire life and will continue eating this way forever!
