Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.

Kim's doctor took her off hypertension medication and now recommends Eat To Live to patients
Last year when I went to see my doctor, my blood pressure was 172/104,. He immediately prescribed Lisinipril and Hydrochloridine (a water pill). My doctor and family told me to get used to medication because I will have to take it all my life as my family has a history of high blood pressure.
But I knew there had to be another answer. I thought I was healthy. I was a non-meat eater for thirty years and was very in shape. I was a fitness freak: I walked and talked fitness. But, eventhough I looked healthy, I loved carbs and cheese and drank a lot of whole milk.So I started to seek out an even more in-depth eating program.
A co-worker gave me Eat To Live, and I ended up reading it three times. I started eating more healthy meals and gave up everything I had once thought was healthy (caffeine, salt, pasta, dairy, etc). I started my journey in December, and after two full months of eating Nutritarian and juicing green juice once a day, I lost almost ten pounds and my blood pressure dropped into the 90's over 60's, so my doctor took me off the Lisinipril. After another month, I lost 18 to 20 pounds and went down to half of the Hydrchloridine.
After two weeks of below normal blood pressure readings, I’m also completely off of the water pill. I’m totally free of any medications for high blood pressure and it’s all thanks to Dr. Fuhrman. My doctor is now a believer in Eat To Live and recommends the book to other patients. Thank you.
