Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.

Sharon lost 42 pounds; her lupus numbers are in normal range and she has more engergy than ever
I am an eight year breast cancer survivor and living with lupus for 28 years. When I was diagnosed with triple negative basal like carcinoma, because I was negative for everything, the doctor told me he would have to "throw the book" at me, and I would gain 40 pounds. That is exactly what happened during chemotherapy. I tried everything to get the weight off, and nothing worked. It was like chiseling off cement. Between the weight and the lupus, I was extremely tired all of the time and my left knee was swollen with arthritis many times larger than the right knee.
My doctor told me to read Eat To Live. He thought the diet would help me, as he had been on it himself. I read the book and took the six week challenge. I loved the food. The weight started coming off and I felt better. After the six weeks, I continued on the program. I read Super Immunity and the Eat to Live Cookbook and joined the Member Center on the website. I began adapting some vegetarian recipes to fit into the Nutritarian lifestyle.
I lost 42 pounds and my energy is through the roof. My husband is now complaining that I have too much energy. My swollen, arthritic knee is very much decreased in size and pain. My lupus numbers are so low that they are found in 50 percent of "normal" people with the numbers I am showing today. I am so thrilled with the Nutritarian lifestyle, and cannot even imagine going back to eating the other way. Thank you so much.
