I make very similar smoothies - yum! But I wrap the kale in a clean dish towel and microwave it for 1 minute before putting it in the blender to make it easier to digest (if someone doesn't like eating raw kale).

It is pretty obvious that this recipe has changed since the comments have been written because I did not see any dates or pomegranate juice in the recipe itself, but there are some comments made about those ingredients!!

I have been making a smoothie for many years and I do love it!

Delicious. I only had one cup of frozen blueberries so I used a cup of frozen cherries.

I added a few dark chocolate vegan chips. This tasted like a milkshake. Devine!

I love this smoothie and have it for breakfast several times a week.  Wonderful flavor; I don't add the dates or anything to sweeten it - the berries and banana sweeten enough for me.  I look forward to my chocolate smoothie mornings!

Used pineapple instead of banana and add 1 serving of chocolate amazing grass. Super good! I've had this recipe with the banana but I think pineapple tastes better

I agree ... this is fab-o-licious! ... I had all the ingredients except the cocoa ... that hasn't been in my cupboard for years!! ... whoa! ... and to think this was a Holiday Challenge recipe!! ... WAY!!! .... so if Dr Fuhrman approved it, I'll consume it ... I couldn't find non-alkaline natural cocoa powder at Whole Foods or my local Food Coop, but the Coop had the only "natural" (and 100% organic) cacao powder ... that's the only ingredient ... so I thought it much better than the others with sugar as the first ingredient ... I'm thrilled that I loved the smoothie, because the package of cacao was 1 pound and it was $15! ... plan to use it after the Holiday Challenge in the "Healthy Chocolate Cake" recipe!! ... which I'm hoping WOWs naysayers to my Eat To Live lifestyle ...

This is delicious and one of my favorites. I believe this comes from Eat to Live or Disease Proof your kids so I had this since the beginning and its still one of my favorites. I sometimes add amazing green superfood chocolate and it gives it a nice healthy kick or you can add some maca powder, delicious!

I have only been doing ETL for a month now. I LOVE this shake. And my toddler can't seem to get enough. It's one of the few things she requests. Who'da thunk? Spinach and chocolate...hmmm.

I think that "spinach berry delight" would have been a much better name for this. It is tasty, but nothing like a chocolate milkshake. I enjoyed it, but my children did not.

I LOVE this for breakfast! Lately have been adding 2 Tbsp Psyllium Fiber and eating it as a pudding when I haven't been eating as well as I should!

This is AMAZING!
i was so surprised at how 'chocolatey' it is considering it is mainly fruit & veg.
i now also make a thicker version (less milk & make sure fruit is frozen first) and have it as a mousse!

This drink is delightful, and I'm not even a big fan of chocolate. I imagine this shake would be well received by non-ETLers when served in a non-see-through container (like Fuhrman recommends for kids).

Try to use unsweetened soy milk. It tastes great and is a little healthier.

Almost too good. Tasted exactly like a chocolate milkshake. I didn't have pomegranate juice so I made it without. Only bad thing, this one did make my husband and I crave SAD food as we are still in our 6 week plan and this tasted too much like a real milkshake! We will try again after the 6 week plan and our cravings have lessened.

Absolutely one of my favorite smoothies!!! (Until I tried the Chocolate Cherry recipe.) If you are looking for something to help deal with chocolate cravings, give this smoothie a try.
